and that’s when the disappointment will set in And even Prime Minister Carney himself said projects will fall by the wayside Quite the interview on CTV Welcome back to Moose and Loose My name’s David Today we got Vassie Capello’s interviewing Daniel Smith who laughs at Vassie because her questions are so dumb This is quite a shocking interview to say the least We’ve also got on the CBC their own panelists are saying Mark Carney’s bill is basically saying it’s draconian It infringes on Canadians privacy They’re trying to sneak things in there This is coming from the CBC We got a bunch of other stuff here Let’s jump into this Starting this one off we got polling data from Shreatis We’ve got New Abocus poll showing 42% for the Liberals 39% for the Conservatives Not much change here but when modeled out you’ll see this is a liberal minority government 170 seats 129 for the Conservatives So minus 15 This is why the Conservatives are not rocking the boat right now They need Mark Carney to fail before we try to topple the government here So you do see the NDP gaining their support back I think a lot of NDP supporters like to see Don Davies as the leader as the temporary leader because Jagmeat Singh is just such a buffoon Jumping over to this clip Vesper posted Mark Carney’s bill C2 is so bad that even the CBC and their pundits don’t think it’s a good idea Law enforcement agencies have clearly used this opportunity to sneak things in here that have been uh vetoed by lawmakers previously in at least two or three different parliaments because they were seen as going too far There are things here that to me make like frankly no sense and are real dangerous slippery slope and I worry that there’s not enough public scrutiny on it For example um you can ask like your internet service provider to hand over your information voluntarily Any information they legally hold about you and the government will protect them from being criminally or civily sued They don’t have to get a warrant They could just ask for it And these are heavily regulated industries So they would have have an incentive to just be like “Okay well I don’t want to cause any problems with the government.” It’s just filled with little example like that throughout the bill But it is clearly a Trojan horse legislation and I find that very troubling Beyond the substance I totally agree with that Beyond the substance I am troubled by the notion that we have a new government that believes that it should introduce such measures under the guise of reinforcing the border Uh it speaks to the opposite of transparency wanting to have debate and get to the best legislation for Canadians This one infringes on privacy rights uh in a way that no legislation I’ve seen before uh come forward and it is not even the point of the bill Wow This is coming from the CBC panel She’s saying it infringes on privacy like she’s never seen before That is true Bill C2 is an absolute disaster They’re trying to sneak in all sorts of stuff in there The Liberals aren’t running a majority government here Why are they trying with these dirty sneaky bills Obviously there’s going to be lawyers filing through these bills and reading every single word Why are they trying to sneak stuff in there We aren’t dumb You got to check this out Vassie Capello and Daniel Smith on CTV We all know Vassie is a conservative I swear she’s got talking points She has to ask Daniel Smith She makes herself look so stupid here Daniel Smith serving up a cold dish of the truth to Vassie One of the factors um that contributes to the sort of revenue cost calculation of carbon capture is the industrial price on carbon you freezing it has had a negative impact on that calculation Are you going to unfreeze it I I’m have to tell you it was going up at too high a rate and if it kept on going up at this rate to $170 by 2030 there would be no investment happening in Alberta I in consulting with the industry uh we thought that 95 was freezing it at 95 was about the right amount As you know the the federal government is writing contracts for differences with companies to guarantee a price of8650 So it’s above what the guarantee is And um when I would just point out Quebec’s carbon market traded last year at $41 So we’re already double the uh the carbon market that exists on the other side of the country So I think that we’re prepared to continue working with industry to set that rate at the right level to incentivize the kind of investments that we want to see but it can’t be so high that it ends up killing all of the revenue generating investment I think there’s a balance and I think that we we we have found it I hope that uh that we’re we’re going to be able to see these projects go forward on that basis But again why is Vassie asking such a dumb question Why is Alberta’s carbon pricing double that of Quebec These are some real questions that need answers here That has an impact ultimately on the profitability of carbon capture which if you are having a negative impact on that further relies those companies on money again that could go to other things from that pipeline you’re talking about or even through tax credits that your government and the federal government is offering Like why are we in that cycle Well that’s what I mean That’s why you need to have both go at the same time because if you can earn revenue by selling more product to Asia and Korea and Japan and China and China then why why would that becomes the revenue stream that helps justify the cost associated with carbon capture So there’s different ways to be able to go about doing this But that revenue could do other things That’s the point right You you made the pitch initially that it could build the roads build the hospitals build the schools and now it’s instead going to go to oil companies Well 100% of zero is zero Massie Like if you don’t end up with production and you don’t end up with revenue there’s nothing to divvy up What is Bassie even saying If you don’t have a pipeline you don’t make any money She’s trying to get her on the other side of it It’s like no you have to have the pipeline first making the money then you can put in that carbon capture crap and try to make the oil more green with other initiatives When it comes down to it oil is not green Period Oil is oil They’re just trying to push this stupid carbon credit system because Brookfield will make money on it Daniel Smith’s trying to play ball just so Alberta can have more prosperity because it’s the only option Yeah you have to begin with production You have to create the environment where energy companies feel like they can get product to market and they can make money at it and then we all benefit But at the moment we’ve had a situation where we’ve had cancellation of pipelines We c the cancellation of energy east of Keystone of Northern Gateway that would have generated $2.5 million barrels a day more of production than we have right now which would have been $55 billion of revenue that we don’t have to talk about who ends up getting what share I don’t want that situation to continue We have to get these projects built and then we can talk about what the relative amount is that should go to different levels of government uh first nations the company itself But uh I can tell you for certain if none of these projects get off the ground then we’ll be in the same position that we have been for the last 10 years watching missed opportunity go by I just she’s putting out straight here If we build more pipelines then we can afford to build those stupid green oil pipelines or the carbon capture all those initiatives We have more money for that nonsense Vassie is trying to get her on this point that if you build more pipelines the oil companies are going to make more money It’s like well you don’t get the green oil if you don’t build the pipelines Once again Vassie’s not this dumb I I refuse to believe this but she’s just got her talking point Someone in the office there told her she had to say Quickly point out according to Statistics Canada for the fourth consecutive year production of crude oil and equivalent projects reached a record high in 2024 up 4.3% from 2023 I I do I do really quickly want to turn to asking I just want to say we we have an aspiration to double our production and we could have we could have been at already That’s just it So it’s up 4% Daniel Smith saying we want 100% And guess what that means More tax revenue for the government to build hospitals to build roads to build schools MRI machines whatever it may be We would have money for that If we don’t build pipelines we don’t get that money We don’t get any of that stuff This is simple math Every effort should be going towards building more pipelines right now including where it’s going to end up aka British Columbia So David Eie needs to get on board or he needs to get out of government Probably 6 to 7 to 8 million barrels a day That’s what I’m looking at And why why should we hold ourselves back when we know the world wants our product our products This is the time for us to build them Yeah I guess I’m just countering the idea that things are destitute or that nothing is being developed or production is extremely capped Like the numbers bear out a different story They’re not perhaps as high as you and other people in the province or maybe even across the country want to see but they’re not going down Ashley we’ve got the lowest living standards in the world Like we’re falling behind all the OECD countries in productivity growth and center of living growth And that’s because these are the kind of projects that consistently fail and do not get built Daniel Smith laughing at Vassie cuz she’s so ridiculous here Vassie knows full well that most of our oil 90s something% of it is going to America We need to get this oil out to other countries so we’re not so reliant on America cuz right now it’s decimating our economy having it tied so much to America You got the premier laughing in Vassy’s face Clearly she’s not this dumb So we we can’t sugarcoat that That is a reality If we want to be a rich country and we want to be able to keep up with our neighbors and growth we’ve got to build things We’ve got to dig things out of the ground We got to get products to market we we we can’t keep on borrowing and borrowing and borrowing and watching uh the the kind of situation that we’ve seen over the last 10 years develop That’s that is not what Albertans want It’s not what Canadians want And so I think there needs to be a complete attitude adjustment about all of these projects because we’ve uh we’ve lost a lot of opportunity across the board across the country You can see Vassy’s facial expression there She wasn’t revolted by what she was saying She agrees I refuse to believe that Vassie wrote those questions herself Somebody forced her to ask those questions because it was so dumb She’s absolutely in fact correct That’s life in Carese Canada today Meanwhile how many politicians are on summer break Well not yet Getting there Wonder how they do carbon capture for all those erupting volcanoes Or could that be is just another scam of the of the taxpayer Next up we got Wobb Canoe here Unveils a bold national plan for Hudson Bay Energy Export Terminal Yeah No I just uh went in and I talked about the Western Corridor project which is basically we all know we need to help Alberta and Saskatchewan get that big hug by bringing their resources and ours to market And I think in time uh you’re going to see that Manitoba is the best path forward because we’re working to ensure that all the partners at the table We have Tidewater We have the existing infrastructure that can be the foundation for uh the next generation investment And so yeah let’s do not just a nation building project let’s do a national unity project Idea of the approvals so us working together on approvals is to have all that sorted out within 2 years uh or less And then um internal to government we’re we’re basically going to flip the model on its head where typically um you wait for the proponent to come forward We’re going to treat this thing like we’re building a high school We’re going to just put out a call for proposals and say “Okay you’ve got an idea to to build a project that’s going to reach Tidewater Let’s hear your proposals Let’s see your capital Let’s see your financing And then we’ll make the choice based on uh which uh you know party steps up with the best uh opportunity from Manitoba So to the business leaders in the room I think there’s a huge chance right now to um get out there and uh you know help to boost these projects to work with the the the folks who are bringing them forward and uh to ensure that there’s financing labor force you know uh the the whole supply chain that we’re going to need to build a mega project in our province and be ready to go I think this will only work if Mark Carney makes some moves and shows that he wants big projects to go forward remove some of the laws like C69 because who wants to be the first builder out of the gate to stick their head out there and and say they want to build this when they know what it’s like to build something under the Liberal governments It’s awful Something has to change before people are going to put their money on the line No it’ll never happen Hudson Bay is icebound for at least 6 to 8 months of the year Also let’s not forget that is a major problem and the major launching point for trying to feed in the north with subsidies that only have drops certain times of the year This will never happen Ice flows Yeah I think this is very difficult with the ice flows I don’t know how he’s planning to get around the whole ice situation up there but makes more sense to build a pipeline to Prince Roert How about that Might as well be talking to polar bears at the Church Hill dump Carney’s not interested Meanwhile in Bmpton I don’t know what’s with this music’s copyright but look at this So they’re having a protest again once again going after Modi All these protests are ridiculous Wanted enemy of seeks Look at this How is this even allowed to have this This the stuff they say I can’t repeat on the channel but they don’t want Modi to be in this realm They want to put him to the after realm I sometimes think the leftist elites do what they do as some form of entertainment This country is a mess We lack leadership from the top down Moving ahead we’ve got this one from CBC Watcher What we have here is the ambassador to Germany saying that there is a case a strong case for selling LNG to Germany despite what Justin Trudeau said in that being there is no business case to be selling LNG anywhere Nobody wanted it Turns out Trudeau lied Have there been any increased discussions about Canada sending natural gas to Germany I know that a few years ago Germany had asked for that The previous prime minister Justin Trudeau said there is no business case We’re not doing it Mark Carney is of another opinion in terms of getting Canadian energy products to Tidewater Have there been any developments in your discussions with the Canadian government Well I can only say that we are still interested in importing LNG uh from different sources and we are largely relying on USA in this context as well but Canada could be an interesting partner in the future Um while saying that of course I have to remind myself of the um ambitious um environmental goals that we’re setting to us We want to be climate neutral in Germany by 2045 the EU by 2050 and that means of course that it can only be a bridging technology but of course there will also be a need for a longer period of time in LG So therefore yes if there are developments in Canada which would allow to export LNG also to the east coast and that of course would take a long time and a number of investments as well on the port infrastructure on the pipeline infrastructure But in principle we would be very open to that But I also want to underline that we are more interested even in hydrogen and green hydrogen and other sorts of hydrogen because there I see huge potential also on the east coast of Canada and starting in wind power but also in hydropower which would help produce green hydrogen which could then be exported to Europe or elsewhere Be interested in see hydrogen and the LLG This guy sounds like a bond villain Here he is talking about that green hydrogen again There’s a full article on this talking about how it’s a scam What is wrong with these politicians When Trudeau says there’s no business case there’s business case That’s basically it When he says the budget will balance itself it won’t Next up we got Tim Houston talking about these wind turbine green energy off the coast of Nova Scotia Once again even in Nova Scotia I mean our own our own So just for order of magnitude we we we we believe we can create 40 gawatts of of wind energy offshore Nova Scotia 40 gawatt Nova Scotia uses two Canada uses about 150 So this is a almost a third of the energy of Canada that Canada uses So it’s a very big number But the the prime minister is talking about Canada as a as a energy superpower That’s pretty pretty uh it’s pretty easy to get behind that The federal government to support an eastern energy partnership which which would connect our regional grids to really the what we would call the energy economy It opens up the potential for our offshore wind And and that is billions It’s it’s tens of billions of dollars of investment And that’s that’s that’s very real That investment has been held at bay because the infrastructure hasn’t been there So So listen to hear that the prime minister talking about investing in infrastructure investing in big projects That that just sounds like potential to me and I’m I’m incredibly optimistic You talked about the offshore wind potential You want to do the offshore wind farms with subcables I guess bringing the power onshore Is it then what just a a big buildout of the grid in the maritime provinces Does it bring in Quebec Does it bring in New Fan Labrador How far does it go Yeah So it would all of those things Okay It would bring in it would bring in Newf Finland It would strengthen the connections to to Prince Edward Island and then and then you know we’ll let the engineers figure out the exact route but but you know most likely an overland route through New Brunswick and connecting into Hydro Quebec into Ontario and onto onto the private the private capital that that is lined up to invest in the offshore is very significant and and you know the benefit of of renewables like this with wind is we can offer rate stability for it could be a 15-year power purchase agreement It could be maybe a 20-year power purchase agreement So we’re just excited about that this wind is is there It’s it’s blowing it It’s the strongest wind speeds in the world are offshore in Nova Scotia It blows a lot and it’s not been tapped does blow a lot in in the offshore blows 60% of the time That’s you know that’s a frequent that’s a really frequent I think that’s the most frequent in the world as well But then to your point there’s 40% when it’s not right So we have to we have to be conscious of that and I think that’s where you can start to look at the hydro solutions where they’re moving water up and down to to to as use hydro as a battery And this is the ties in tie in with Labrador and Quebec Start to use it as a natural battery But once again there’s a whole article on this This doesn’t seem to work If they think it’s really going to work build one turbine and prove it to everyone that it’s so beneficial to society Offshore G That couldn’t be bad for our oceans Are the liberals the party of the climate anymore or not Which one is it The United Kingdom fell for this crap Now it has the highest electricity prices in Europe Every windmill gets a guaranteed payment despite what electricity they produce or fail to produce It is a grift which will make some wealthy the rest of us impoverished And we got someone posting a chart here of what’s happened in the UK As the other commenter said highest power in the world Climate activists are always optimistic about cost and are really wrong You can see the power per watt here skyrocketed after they put in this wind farm Once again Tim Houston tied to his billionaire buddy there Somebody’s getting rich off this It’s not Canadians Next up we’ve got Melanie Jolie saying that Canadians need to use more steel to save the industry As Mark Nixon pointed out here this comes after Mark Carney said Canada doesn’t use that much steel And that CTV interview is like come on how much steel are we really using Who uses steel We need to make sure that we buy Canadian steel We need to make sure that we buy Canadian aluminum And that’s why the the legislation that was tabled today to fasttrack major projects is important because to your point there is urgency and we need to make sure that we act very speedy No one buys anything she says She’s such a space cadet What has she actually done in her career as a politician Can anyone point to anything she’s actually done Something she’s achieved Where do they find these useless bystanders Like most politicians I don’t think she understands capitalism You can’t just create demand by saying so Use more steel build more affordable housing etc No plans just words Why don’t they open up our economy so we build more pipelines Maybe they can use some steel there Build some more ships ice breakers and other things for our military You can use some more steel there They’re not going to change anything It’s the same Liberal government
