but you you don’t think a budget is needed right now well I think a budget takes a long time to do but I think also it’s important that we are able to inform Canadians we are the most economic uh government in uh in years let the gaslighting and manipulation begin mark Carney got a little snappy with a journalist again and then kind of caved to public opinion i don’t know there’s a lot to pick apart with this one we’re going to talk about all of that i’m Jasmine Lane this is Over Opinionated subscribe follow like comment your thoughts down below we have a new Green slush fund scandal on our hands here in Canada and the FBI gave a serious and scathing warning to the entire world about the state of Canada under a liberal government under this exact same liberal government all that and so much more coming up today on Over Opinionated i’m going to start off this episode a little bit heavier but it’s from something that a friend of mine sent me a pamphlet that was available for people to learn a little bit more about made for children and teens this is Canada by the way where uh they actually even brag about how much money this saves our health care system so if you think it’s about compassion you are unbelievably misled let’s read a little bit of here saying that uh a special committee of members of parliament and senators studying maid has recommended allowing maid for mature minors a mature minor is a child or teen who is deemed capable of making a decision for maid this would essentially remove the minimum age of eligibility the committee also suggested parents may not be consulted and wouldn’t need to consent to their child’s death via maid why well because children are uniquely vulnerable canada’s first priority must be to provide highquality medical care for children the pamphlet goes on to uh suggest also made for mental illness which is something that we haven’t talked about for a little bit but as as you if you’re new here welcome and I’ll fill you in but if you have been watching for a while this is something deeply close to my heart um I tried to take my life in my early 20s i lost the man who I was with for uh close to 10 years to that exact same fate so a unique perspective of being on both ends of the spectrum there of being in that position and then going through treatment and recovery plans to to be where I am today and then also having the aftermath the the permanent melancholy of dealing with losing somebody in such a fashion and so Made for Mental Illness is set to take effect in March of 2027 that’s coming up real quick and I don’t think people are being loud enough about this uh it says here basically that uh one in 10 people will wait more than four months for counseling the waiting period for maid is only 3 months thereby suggesting that listen don’t waste your time waiting for a counselor we can just end it for you and in a shorter period of time it says uh we are already hearing about people asking for maid because they do not have the support needed to live and I just really want you to think about that by the way the state of Canada to all of those people who say “Oh no canada’s so great we’re so awesome.” Are we really are we really because this goes to show otherwise and of course it’s all under the guise of compassion and advocacy um I will tell you though there is nothing compassionate about this this is pure evil and I can’t even imagine the type of demonic that somebody would need to be to actually advocate for made for young vulnerable people and people who are experiencing some really tough times in life when what they really need is a better system and what they really need is help and somebody to listen to them not going to talk to somebody and then them saying “You know what you’re right that devil on your shoulder that’s telling you all kinds of lies right now it’s right yeah we’re gonna help you by the way because it’s gonna save us a lot of money this is exciting because I’m in front of a construction site it’s home to 55 seniors they’re going to move in uh early spring next year we’re building it and Wick Green Community Center a very well-known very good social service agency is going to come and operate it these seniors that are going to be here will get comprehensive support whether they need mental health or any other kind of services so yay i straight up have no idea how Ciao is the mayor of Toronto what how how how do you listen to that woman talk and you think “Yeah she’s really good she she really really gets me.” Huh and here she is again bragging about uh these new CCANs that are being used to build a senior home and here’s one of the big problems when it comes to people being indoctrinated and manipulated and when it comes to your state slowly but surely becoming a very very scary place to call home is they do things like this and they manipulate the way that the story is told and they tell you things like we just need to build modular housing right but the solutions that they are offering you are absolutely horrible and over time decades sometimes that becomes normal where suddenly Canada what 50 years in the future nobody’s going to have a home everybody’s going to live in modular homes people are going to have cands that’s the solution because they literally don’t have any others because we literally are absolutely broke and I wanted to point to this as well fascinating correlation with this video from her is that the average homeowner firsttime homeowner in Ontario is now 40 years old that has become the norm and it’s not the norm because that’s just the way it is it is the norm because of bad government policies because of irresponsible spending because of a government that is putting you actually not even on the list you’re nowhere on the list when it comes to the government’s priorities but they will give you little droplets like this a see look we’re building houses out of sea cans how cool is this it’s not cool it’s a suffocating way to live and it has such huge damage over time i even think this is probably like a silly story but I grew up very poor like I lived in a trailer for a good chunk of my life i had a beautiful childhood very fun out in the country but we did not have money we’re fine now you know took a couple years to get out of that funk but I don’t think I actually really had money where I could do things that I wanted even though I busted my ass trying to afford things until I was probably 26 was when I actually started making a decent enough income which is still living paycheck to paycheck but decent enough that I could at least afford a bigger apartment i remember the first place I ever moved out to on my own and I’m the only one in my family who lives in the city and it was the this tiny tiny basement suite and I was so happy to have it and I remember when I moved out of there and I had upgraded to a much larger unit the freedom I had like I didn’t even realize how suffocating it was to be in this teeny tiny basement suite where I had like a path to go to everything because there was just no open space cuz it was so small but it became normal to me while I was there and I didn’t even realize how big of a toll it was taking on me being so constrained to this teeny tiny place where you know like there was just no freedom to move anywhere and I was still like struggling to pay for things even in this small space but at least I had that small space all that to say that these things become normal but they’re not normal and you don’t realize the damage that they do until you break out of that until you have opportunity to thrive and live your life the way that human beings are supposed to not struggling not in these cramped tiny spaces like the Liberal government wants you to and thinks is normal while they go and jet while they live in mansions funded by your tax dollars all of them do this isn’t party specific but like it’s just so crazy to me how everybody is seemingly okay with this type of life cuz nothing about this is normal no there we did hear yes from Gregor Robertson though he said no so where do you stand on that well it’s not a first off it’s not a yes no question it’s not a yes no question it was for him well I’m answering the questions right now if I can um the um because it it’s a question which relates to different time horizons and it relates to different houses so we are cutting GST on new homes okay so that affects the price of new homes that affects the cost is a better way to put it all-in cost for people it’s up to $50,000 savings on uh the average home price uh a little more than that actually if you look at the greater greater uh Toronto area so this was a question asked after Mark Carney’s housing minister said essentially that you know he thinks supply needs to increase but the cost of homes don’t need to increase and I mean there is a little bit of nuance there because yes if there’s more supply then yes home prices typically go down but then he also said that you know we don’t want people who are currently homeowners who are hoping to cash out on their homes to have that price go down for them which is just like whoa what is going on so you don’t want house prices to go down then is what you’re insinuating just insanity um I was reading as well that the average price for a Canadian home is officially around $700,000 which is the lowest it’s been in a number of years um but so the thing about this though with Mark Carney is he says “Oh yeah well you know we’re doing GST it’s about 50,000 GST that you’ll save on a new home that’s only for first-time home buyers.” And also here’s the thing though if the government is able to save you that money but they refuse to increase our oil production as an example then what does that mean that means that they’re just going to tax you harder because they’re not doing anything literally anything to unleash our economy right now at all there’s nothing there was nothing about that even in Mark Carney’s party platform which blew my mind when he released it not surprised but blew my mind nonetheless um so the government at the end of the day yeah sure they can go and say “Oh we’re going to cut GST for first-time home buyers.” Great how are you making up for the hundreds of billions of dollars lost revenue that that’s going to cost you then how you’re going to increase taxes in other ways that’s just how that works unless you end up developing your resources the way that we should have been for the last 10 years that you still say that you don’t really plan on doing you dance around it a lot um and you’re able to have a very prosperous country where you aren’t solely reliant on taxpayer dollars to fund your lifestyle um so there the significant savings for people um measures to reduce development charges over the course of the next 5 years for the next 5 years cut those development charges in half those lower the cost for those homes that are built over the course of the next 5 years those savings will be passed on to people the overall level of housing prices though is not so that that amount of activity is not enough necessarily to affect the overall level of house price it does affect those types of homes and people who can buy those types of homes once we increase uh as a country the rate of home building um then that is going to make home prices much lower than they otherwise would be but that’s a medium-term effect and so that depends where house prices uh would have otherwise been at that point so look the econom I you know it’d be lovely if we could always give very simple yes no questions up down question answers to economy but we’re talking about time horizons what the core issue is the core issue for younger Canadians for all Canadians is that the level of house prices goes down relative to their incomes so the affordability goes up um for them and uh both in the immediate the medium-term and the longer term uh that’s what we’re looking to do you know just to put it blankly it doesn’t actually matter what the government decides to cut taxes on it doesn’t matter what supports they have outside of then borrowing more money uh which then our grandchildren’s grandchildren are going to be paying off and I don’t know about you but if you look around is that worth it right now no um that doesn’t matter what does matter though is Canada as a country and what we are doing to be economically prosperous yeah sure breaking down you know provincial trade barriers is a step in the right direction it’s not everything and all of the other things we talked about this in our last episode as well that the Carney government is like “Oh it doesn’t have to be oil there’s all these other economic corridors energy corridors sorry is what he was what he had actually said there all of that is based on a theory it is based on things that don’t actually work that I leave Rome I will leave Rome tomorrow morning more convinced than ever that Canada has what the world wants uh and we seek to follow the values that the world respects uh so there’s a tremendous opportunity for Canada to help lead uh a world that is being reshaped uh to the advantage of Canadians and in the spirit of today’s proceedings to the advantage of all in the world case in point the EV market how many billions of dollars has the Canadian government chosen to spend to try to save or subsidize that market claiming that Canada is going to be the economic superpower if we keep that afloat while omitting from the general public that China is actually the number one cheapest exporter of all EVs in the entire world they are absolutely dominating in that market and it is honestly just bad business for a Canadian company with all of our tariffs with all of our regulations with everything that needs to get approved before you get anything done due to too much bureaucracy it is a very bad business move to even waste your time investing in that when we have profitable things that are working that we have infrastructure for that we can expand on that makes a lot more sense but when your government is taken over by ideologues that doesn’t happen and activists we have a lot of activists in our government so this is from Rick Perkins and you know how there was the the Green Slush Fund scandal so this was actually one of the 186 board conflicts that totaled over $400 million funneled to liberal insider companies all involved in green tech of some sort these things that keep on failing so this one identified by the auditor general found that the handpicked slush fund director uh guy we met I think is how you pronounce that uh he was conflicted when the slush fund board approved $4 million of your money to the Licle or to Licycle while he was on board licycle has now filed for bankruptcy and it goes against the entire narrative of Carney that he is the man with a plan that’s why he told Canadians and it’s why he won this last election they believed he had a plan um and in fact he used it as an attack point you know a plan beats no plan um he has no plan now he doesn’t have a fiscal plan it’s now he was elected leader of the party in March um you know he could have given direction even before the election on what he wants this budget to look like he had a costed platform why is there no budget it’s I find it absolutely um mindboggling that they’re doing this that not giving and not giving anything any kind of a statement but what what about if it was like cuz I’m trying to wrap my head around this too right u you know when when you guys won government in 2006 with Harber he was sworn in in early February budget came in May so if you give like a financial update now and a budget in September you know what I mean but it doesn’t even seem like there’s going to be a budget at all it’s going to be an economics fizz your favorite thing right so look uh look the Liberals have always been trying to figure out how to budgets balance themselves just don’t have a budget balance look at that um no it’s absurd and even going to September I think is is not acceptable um you look at the 2006 when Harper came in that was a wholly transformed government um and they had a number of of months to do it and they did it carney became leader of the party in March he was prime minister uh in March he could have started giving direction and he just had a fully costed platform former uh again central banker uh Mr finance guy uh worked at the department of finance knows the ins and outs of that department he was one of the guys that helped us do our budget in 2008 uh when we when we did it um so it just makes no sense to me in 2011 uh we had an election and a few weeks later we brought in the budget that was the same government same prime minister but I just it makes no sense and it goes against the entire narrative that he set up that he was the man with the plan also you have to listen to Melanie Jolie talking about why they didn’t have a budget even though they’ve been in government for over a decade and know exactly how this all works on the budget the government is not tableabling a budget this spring i know that’s that’s not your job but um there there is a view by Pure Qual and others that this does send a signal to investors you’re not laying out what the plan is right now the most that the Minister of Champagne has said is there’ll be a fiscal update in the fall how do how do you justify this i mean I know that there’s not a lot of time but surely there is an opportunity to tell Canadians what the state of Canada’s finances yeah I think we we need to make sure that Canadians understand what is uh you know what’s the state of the economy i think there can be different formats to do that uh of course this is a decision by the Minister of Finance uh and I’ll let him do his job but I’m convinced that we can find ways to do that but but you you don’t think a budget is needed right now well I think a budget takes a long time to do but I think also it’s important that we are able to inform Canadians we are the most economic uh government in uh in years and it’s a question for us to make sure that uh not only do we deliver results in terms of the economy but we’re able to inform Canadians and investors and after a lot of public scrutiny mark Carney has announced that they will present a budget of sorts in the fall uh there’ll be a budget in uh the fall um in the short term it’s a very short parliamentary session um that is coming up the speech from the throne is on the 27th as people know uh the house is due to rise under the house’s rules uh by the 20th of June so it’s really 3 weeks mark Carney decided by the way because he has all the powers in the world to say you know what guys we are in the crisis of our lifetime we need to give Canadians what they deserve what they voted for we’re not going to we’re not going to go on summer break until we get this budget done but he didn’t do that instead he tried to dance around it and I wonder why could it be because of the state of our economy solve some of the issues we may have in the auto sector or you know elsewhere in the country but speaking of investments as you know Honda has postponed this 15 billion dollar EV investment Ontario i know you spoke to the CEO i know they said no jobs will be lost but to me that also means that no new jobs will be created if they are pausing this for as much as two years it sort of begs the question what what what industry will there be for the EV uh vehicle industry all that work that Minister Champagne did doesn’t seem to be bearing fruit if Honda is saying we’re we’re not going ahead with this right now well because I think there are a couple of reasons why because there’s a trade war with Trump there is also the RA the inflation reduction act of Biden that uh really created much more of an industry in the EV sector uh and that Trump is is not following suit uh and and and meanwhile it’s just the demand on the part of consumer has lowered so we need to make sure that we uh have conversations find ways to be in solution mode that’s why I for sure will want to go to Japan and Korea and in Europe to talk to uh CEOs in that sector uh and meanwhile I think that we can drive the economy through also different sectors definitely the energy sector we can become this energy superpower the prime minister has been talking about we can invest in AI digital tech and finally my last point is because I’m in charge of research I think and what we’re seeing with President Trump going after Harvard and other universities we can attract the best and the brightest here in Canada i don’t know if it’s just me maybe I’m getting a little bitter not sure but it is really frustrating to consistently hear the leaders of our country say things like “Oh well you know we can do so much more we can invest in all these other areas that we haven’t been for the last 10 years yeah yeah we’re going to do all that stuff we’re going to keep working.” And not a single one of them has just said what Pierre Polyv did which makes a lot of sense which is very sound when you look at statistics and data and what is going on in the world which is just freaking cramp down on what is working hammer down on what is working and unleash it just do it but they won’t because they are ideologues they are climate activists because they have investments in this stuff because they go and give their friends hundreds of millions of dollars worth in contracts in subsidies that just go bankrupt afterwards so instead of just repealing the things that are hindering your successful markets from being superpowers you spend your money on other things that don’t work that the world on mass is starting to reject and then you don’t have money left over to deal with things that actually matter take a listen to Cash Patel just mopping the floor on what is going on in Canada give you a statistic that I gave to Congress that nobody was paying attention to over 300 known or suspected terrorists crossed into this country last year illegally known or suspected terrorist not illegals not just illegals known or suspected terrorist 85% of them came in through the northern border this year so where’s all the fentanyl coming from still where’s the trafficking coming from still where is all where are all the narot traffickers going to keep bringing this stuff into the country the northern border our adversaries have partnered up with the CCP and others Russia Iran on a variety of different criminal enterprises and they’re going and they’re sailing around to Vancouver and coming in by air and the sheer tyranny of distance of the northern border and the lack of cooperation from federal authorities in prior administrations to actually firm up that northern border is what’s causing a continuation of violent crime now we’re focused on it now do I think that Canada is responsible for 100% of what’s coming into the US obviously not there’s a lot of players at be there do I think it’s significantly higher than what the Canadian government has said yeah I certainly do because we only check less than 1% of our containers before they go to the US this was a very hot topic a few months ago i’ve done dozens of videos really breaking this down this shouldn’t come as a surprise to Canada because we know that between 2023 and 2024 canada saw an increase in the number of gangs and cartels and terrorist organizations doing business here in Canada primarily in Ontario and in British Columbia we know that the number went from about 51 groups to 99 groups 2023 to 24 was also coincidentally the time in which David Eevee and Justin Trudeau implemented their decriminalization experiment we’re not sure even to this day what the public safety impacts of that experiment have been but we know that it is ongoing we also know that safe supply has been diverted into the hands of criminals at a level which this government here in BC describes as significant yeah the standard of living and uh state of our economy is one that’s not looking too bright in Canada right now and it seems as though Mark Carney despite you know rallying and campaigning on this idea of being the savior the economic hero being so amazing is absolutely failing who would have thought i’m Jasmine Lane this is Over Opinionated be sure to subscribe follow comment your thoughts down below and uh I will talk to you tomorrow i’m sure we will have a lot more updates on what Cash Patel said as that starts trending more and you know more places start picking it up and Canadian ministers start actually responding to it so uh stick around for that in the coming
