(00:00) Mark Carney thought he was stepping on to Center Stage as the hero of Canada’s economic future but Donald Trump just turned his performance into a punchline in a move that’s as brutal as it is blunt Trump dismissed Carney as nothing more than a clown who owns a circus and as the dust settles it’s hard to argue with him under the shadow of the Ambassador Bridge Carney tried to sell his $2 billion doll Auto industry fund as a shield against Trump’s tariffs but his Grand spectacle quickly turned into a farce while Trump secures American
(00:27) jobs and flexes his negotiating muscle Carney offers Canada vague promises and a bailout plan that does nothing to address the real problem the liberal government’s failure to stand up for Canadian industry Carney may want Canadians to believe he has everything under control but Trump’s message is clear this isn’t a game and it certainly isn’t a circus the question now is Will Canada wake up before the tent collapses welcome back to Street politics Canada Mark Carney the latest liberal poster boy just got a harsh dose of
(00:55) reality courtesy of President Donald J Trump in his usual dramatic fashion Carney stood under the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor attempting to sell Canadians on the fantasy that his $2 billion Auto industry fund would somehow Shield them from the economic storm Trump just Unleashed what he didn’t count on however was that Trump had already read the script and decided to turn it into a comedy Trump never one to mince words has called Carney a clown and quite frankly the man seems intent on proving him right instead of formulating a real
(01:25) strategy to deal with the very real economic challenge posed by Trump’s 25% Auto tariffs Carney is offering Canadians a circus act a taxpayer funded bailout plan that conveniently ignores the root of the problem liberal incompetence on trade and economic policy carne’s response to Trump’s tariffs was full of the usual liberal platitudes talk of unity resilience and standing together but while carne is busy holding hands and singing Kumbaya Trump is securing American jobs in strengthening the US Auto industry and
(01:56) what we’re going to be doing is a 25% tariff on all cars that are not made in the United States if they’re made in the United States there’s absolutely no tariff we start off with a 2 and 1 half% base which is what we were at and we go to 25% and basically as you know and as you’ve been saying not reporting as accurately as it should be reported because it’s a massive story uh business is coming back to the United States so that they don’t have to pay tariffs and let’s be honest if Carney really cared about Canadian workers he wouldn’t have
(02:29) spent years working for globalist investment firms shifting money offshore to Bermuda and Advising the very Elites who profit from economic instability Trump’s tariffs are a direct message if Canada wants to do business with the US it needs to start putting its own workers first instead of coing up to International bureaucrats who are more interested in carbon taxes than car manufacturing and what is carne’s brilliant response more government spending more bureaucracy and a vague promise to build an all-in Canada
(02:58) manufacturing Network because nothing says efficiency like letting liberals run the supply chain Trump’s trade War has put the kinship that exists between our great Nations under greater strain than at any point in our storied histories and his trade war is hurting and it will hurt more American consumers and workers I see that American consumer confidence is at a multi-year low today and those American workers and consumers should be president Trump’s concern but his trade War also threatens to work and hurt hard-working Canadians the
(03:38) people I care about the people we care about it threatens union workers like those behind me from unior those down the 401 at auto assembly plants in ingersol and Oshawa and Oakville it threatens people in Hamilton working in the steel mills and up in the sagon at the aluminum smelters and like hundreds of thousands of Canadians who just want to earn a good paycheck and build a good life it’s understandable that Canadians are anxious and that’s why our new government has committed to use all of the revenues from our
(04:22) retaliatory tariffs against the United States use all of those revenues to support Canadian workers we’ve we’ve already turned that commitment into action to support workers we have temporarily waved the onewe employment insurance waiting period it’s almost laughable to hear Carney call Trump’s tariffs unjustified and inconsistent with the Canada United States Mexico agreement kma this is the same Liberal Party that gleefully slapped retaliatory tariffs on American Goods whenever it suited them but when Trump plays hard ball suddenly carne is
(04:55) calling for fair play the hypocrisy is stunning Carney says he wants to make Canada more self-sufficient that’s rich coming from a man who made his career managing funds in tax Havens and Advising globalist institutions if he really believed in self-sufficiency he would have fought to lower taxes cut red tape and encourage private sector growth things Trump has actually done instead he’s promising more government Intervention which is just liberal code for we’ll take your money and spend it on things that don’t
(05:25) work and let’s talk about carne’s so-called plan to fortify the Canadian supply chain if it was really that easy why didn’t the liberals do it years ago the truth is they don’t have the political will or the economic knoow to make Canada a manufacturing Powerhouse meanwhile Trump has made it abundantly clear build an America or pay the price like it or not that’s how strong leaders negotiate do you have any Clarity on how Canada will be imped and how will be treated and how respond ret yeah this is a crucial question I’ll give a short
(05:59) answer we do not yet have the executive order and so there are different variants of the 25% announcement uh that was made today one would be that it is only on the this is still significant to be absolutely clear but on the part component of a car another would be that it’s on the entire vehicle uh we await the executive order for that Clarity uh but to be absolutely clear but even in the more quote restricted version of this uh it is a significant uh action it’s entirely unjustified it’s entirely inconsistent uh with uh kusma uh and
(06:36) indeed the long history of uh relations uh in the auto sector uh right back uh through the Auto Pack uh yeah I I I think uh it would be appropriate uh that the president and I speak given the action that he’s taken uh I’m sure that will happen soon I’m not going to give you a precise timing on that in terms of uh options uh which was the second part of Miss Mar question uh even during uh a caretaker period of government we have anticipated this possibility uh we have put in place the mechanisms so that if it is appropriate
(07:17) for retaliatory tariffs and there’s many considerations uh to be taken in in in those regards and I want to have the meeting of our of our cabinet uh Canada US cabinet other considerations we need to see the details of the executive order uh but we will take the steps that are in the interests of Canadian workers of Canada we are going to stand up for Canada we’re going to be United um and uh we will fight uh in a unified way Carney also tried to dodge questions about his ties to Offshore Investments but the conservative leader Pierre PV
(07:51) was quick to point out the obvious Carney has been more concerned with patting his own Pockets than looking out for Canadian workers while Trump is fighting for the working class Carney has been dining with billionaires and ensuring his friends at Brookfield Asset Management get richer it’s no wonder that jug meet Singh of the NDP not exactly a trump fan also called out Carney for choosing Bermuda to shelter his Investments that is why today I’m announcing that the new liberal government will create the Strategic
(08:21) response fund and this is a $2 billion fund that will protect the jobs of workers affected by president Trump’s tariffs but it’ll do much more than that it will fortify the entire Canadian auto supply chain from raw materials to finished Vehicles because we’re not just protecting the present we’re looking to build the future we’re creating new jobs under our plan we will build an all-in Canada Network for autom manufacturing components because on average an auto part crosses that border often through that bridge over that bridge six times
(09:06) before final assembly and in a trade War that’s a huge vulnerability tariff as it goes into the United States each time so what we need to do is build more of those autos and more of each Auto right here in Canada in the new world that will be in advantage that will help insulate us from president Trump’s trade threats and it will grow the economy right here in Windsor and across Southwestern Ontario until today it’s taken too long to get
(10:12) important projects done if even the farle thinks you’re too cozy with corporate Elites you know you’ve got a problem but don’t expect the liberal friendly media to push this issue too hard they’re too busy pretending Carney is the savior of the Canadian economy the irony of this whole situation is that while carne is talking about about protecting Canadian workers his government has done everything possible to make life harder for them higher taxes endless regulations and now a half-baked plan to throw taxpayer money
(10:39) at a problem he helped create meanwhile Trump is offering a clear choice to auto manufacturers invest in America and you’ll be rewarded that’s called leadership while Carney fumbles his way through damage control Trump remains unfazed he’s doing what he promised bringing jobs back to America strengthening us industry and making it clear that American interests come first and what do Canadians get a liberal leader who would rather cry about betrayal than take real action at the end of the day Trump is playing chess
(11:09) while Carney is trying to juggle the difference is that one is a master strategist and the other is just another liberal clown performing for the cameras the choice for Canada is simple keep following the failed policies of the past or start thinking about how to work with a president who actually understands the art of the deal either way Trump’s message is clear this circus is over and the clowns are being sent home well that’s all for now do you think Mark Carney is truly looking out for Canadian workers or is he just
